McArdle alum Tim Schedl, PhD, has been elected as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). AAAS, the world’s largest general scientific society, has presented this honor annually since 1874 to recognize distinguished achievements in science and engineering.
Schedl, now a Professor of Genetics at Washington University in St. Louis, received his PhD in molecular biology at UW-Madison in the laboratory of Dr. William F. Dove.
Schedl also was awarded an R35 grant recently from NIGMS for his study of the “control of germline stem cells and the switch to meiotic development in C. elegans”.
