McArdle Faculty Member Beth Weaver Receives Women’s Health Research Mentorship Award

The McArdle laboratory for Cancer Research is pleased to announce that Dr. Beth Weaver (Depts. of Oncology and Cell and Regenerative Biology) has been awarded the prestigious 2023 UW SMPH Group on Women in Medicine and Science/BIRCHWH Women’s Health Research Mentorship Award.

The award recognizes impactful mentorship of women scientists who are pursuing careers in women’s health and sex/gender differences research.

Dr. Weaver is recognized for her commitment to faculty development and helping junior faculty achieve tenure while maintaining a consistent and impressive record of publication and funding.

Drs. Deneen Wellik and Dr. Paul Lambert write, “Dr. Weaver has been a highly impactful mentor for women scientists. Dr. Weaver excels as a mentor and role model in both the laboratory and in the classroom. She has mentored many outstanding women trainees who have published first rate papers in top journals and gone onto subsequent positions in academia and industry.
