Dr. Wei Wang, a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Paul Lambert, was recently awarded an AACR-Genentech Immuno-oncology Research Fellowship. Dr. Wang is receiving $120,000 over two years to support her cutting-edge research studying how stress keratins modulate the immune response to cancers.
These prestigious fellowships encourage and support postdoctoral or clinical research fellows to conduct immuno-oncology research and to establish a successful career path in this field. The research may be basic, translational, clinical, or epidemiological in nature and must have direct applicability and relevance to immuno-oncology.
“The AACR-Genentech Immuno-oncology Research Fellowship supports my research on the mechanisms of immune response regulation by K17 in cancer and will help me transition to be an independent researcher with the goal of applying what I learn to improve current immunotherapy efficacy,” said Dr. Wang. “I am very excited about the potential this research has to improve the lives of patients, and I am grateful to the AACR and Genentech for their support.”
