UW Carbone member Elaine Alarid, PhD, was featured in the latest issue of Quarterly, the magazine for alumni, friends, faculty and students of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. In this piece, she talks about her experiences of having good mentors and the importance of paying it forward.
“To be able to help students who have gifts and talents that often are not recognized and could be hugely important, that’s what nourishes me,” she says.
